About
Marco Antonio Anaya born in Monterrey in 1981, he spent his childhood in the states of Durango and Chihuahua.
His interest in creation began through music, and during his adolescence, he formed several rock bands in Monterrey between 1996 and 2002.
He graduated as an architect from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León. As a student, he participated in competitions and workshops such as: MTY 2030, Luis Barragán Chair, Mario Pani Award, and others, being selected for the National Meeting of Architecture Students.
He worked in the Urban Development of the State and private firms in Mexico and Denmark. His professional experience covers landscaping, architectural design, and urbanism, collaborating in the design and supervision of various projects like the sculptural route of the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey (2008-2009).
In 2010, he decided to dedicate himself full-time to artistic creation, since then he has exhibited in museums, galleries, and cultural centers, highlighting his participation in the XI Alfredo Zalce National Biennial of Painting and the Nuevo León State Art Prize in 2018 and 2022.
He was invited to exhibit at World Art Dubai in 2019, and his painting is mainly found in private collections in Mexico and the United States.
During 2021 and 2022, he participated in the High-Performance Program of Contemporary Art, exhibiting in MARCO Museum, NUUN Art Space in Oaxaca, and the Metropolitan Museum of Monterrey.
